SUPPORTING ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES

Respite Care

This support can be based in the home or out in the community and where relevant, gives carers a break from the caring role while providing social, recreational activities or companionship to the client. This can also include supporting clients to attend regular activities (including transport to and from).

Personal Care

This support involves assistance with the personal needs of the client and includes activities of daily living such as getting in and out of bed, assistance using the toilet, shower, dressing, eating as well as other grooming and personal hygiene activities.

In-home Support

This is support provided to individuals and families within their own homes assisting with activities of daily living such as meal preparation weekly shopping (including transport to and from) and light housework

People with a moderate, severe or profound disability or long-term illness who are over 18 years of age, living in their own home or partially supported accommodation and living in the ACT.
