CLIENT RIGHTS
Clients of Tandem’s services may expect the following:
Be treated with respect and dignity.
Receive a flexible, effective, efficient and affordable service, tailored to their individual needs.
Have access to services without discrimination of any kind.
Have access to information about Tandem, including services offered, policies and procedures, user rights and grievance procedures.
Have access to information about any other services, which may be of assistance.
Be free to choose what services they want from available alternatives.
Have self-determination, maintaining control over their own lives, including decision-making and planning regarding respite and other services.
Be able to involve an advocate or interpreter of their choice at any time.
Have their privacy and confidentiality respected regarding client records or any personal information.
Have, subject to the rights of others, access to any personal records held by Tandem.
Be able to discontinue the service or refuse to have a particular Support Worker without recrimination.
Be free to complain or express grievances about any aspect of Tandem's services and operation, and expect to be treated fairly, promptly and without retribution (refer to Grievance Procedures).
Be shown sensitivity with regard to the particular needs of people with different cultural, religious and language backgrounds.
Have an opportunity to be involved or have representation in the management of the service thereby contributing helpful comments or suggestions about service operation.
Be advised as soon as possible by Tandem of any changes in support arrangements.
